Enyeama Explains Row With Oliseh, May Quit Eagles
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has expressed his displeasure over his row with the coach of the team, Sunday Oliseh.
The player spoke with Colin Udoh of ESPN FC
“I was surprised,” Enyeama, who has 101 Nigeria caps to his name, told ESPN FC. “So I stood up to explain my position and ask for an explanation, but the coach asked me to sit down.
“I insisted on speaking because I felt that with the years of dedicated service I have given to the country I deserve at least the respect of giving my own side. But he told me that either the whole team would leave the room for me, or I would have to leave the room for the whole team.”
“There has been a lot of incidents these last few months,” he said. “I don’t need it, the team does not need it, so maybe the best thing might be to step aside in the interest of the country so that the team can focus on football instead of distractions.”
Enyeama arrived at the Nigeria camp on Tuesday, one day after Monday’s deadline, after attending his mother’s funeral over the weekend in his home town.
According to reports, Oliseh was unhappy about his captain’s late arrival and demoted him at a team meeting after dinner, naming CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa as the new captain.

Human Rights Activist Femi Falana Tells Buhari ‘Don’t Remove Fuel Subsidy’
The
activist stressed that those who have stolen the wealth of the country must be
made to pay back.…..
Human
rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari
not to entertain any plan to remove fuel subsidy but rather establish modular
refineries to ease the pain of the citizenry.
Falana said this while speaking at a symposium organized by the
State Political and Legislative Powers Bureau in collaboration with the June 12
Coalition of Democratic Formations at LTV, Agidingbi, Ikeja in commemoration of
22nd anniversary of annulment of the June 12, 1993 general poll.
He
said, “I am challenging the All Progressive Congress, APC, led Federal
Government because there are pressures on President Muhammadu Buhari to
inflict more punishment on Nigerians by removing the fuel subsidy.”
The
activist stressed that those who have stolen the wealth of the country must be
made to pay back.
Falana lamented that governors have paid less attention to the
diversion of public funds in the country, saying “We must take back every penny
from the oil companies who owe the federal government.
On
modular refinery, he said, “In our neighboring countries, they have modular
refineries and they were built between $1 million and $15 million.
We
must start to construct this especially in Lagos State. With this, we will not
be inflicting punishment on the citizens. We will not be losing money but raise
money.”
Buhari To Bail Out Cash-strapped States
Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom says President Muhammadu Buhari would extend bailout to states to enable them offset backlog of salaries and liabilities crippling their economic activities across the country.
Speaking, yesterday, in Makurdi, the state capital, during separate meetings with students and other union leaders from the Benue State University (BSU), Ortom revealed that his predecessor, Gabriel Suswam left behind a debt burden of over N90 billion for his administration, contrary to the N9.2 billion debt he claimed he left.
According to Ortom, “the list of the debt (left behind by Suswam) include N50 billion incurred from ongoing contracts, N18 billion on certificated contracts, N12 billion on salary arrears and about N10 billion for bonds and bank facilities and loans.”
While the state waits for the lifeline from the FG, Ortom said Benue had concluded arrangements to borrow funds to pay one month of the backlog of salary arrears across board and to also ensure the take off of both the executive and legislative arms of government.
He said the decision was prompted by the need to demonstrate to the state work force that he was determined to address their problems and to persuade striking tertiary institution workers to call off their four-month-old strike.
Benue is among the cash-strapped states in the country. Others include Osun, Enugu, Kaduna, Plateau and Imo. Most of the states or their local governments are said to be owing between four to seven months salaries of workers amounting to several billions of Naira.

Tell your MP to take climate action on 17 June
join thousands of people on 17 June 2015 to tell
your MP to take action on climate change – locally, nationally and
internationally.
We all know that dealing with climate change is one of the most
pressing political challenges we face today. Let’s make sure our MPs
know that too.
Whoever you voted for in the general election, we all need to push
for cross-party collaboration on committing to staying well below two
degrees of warming.
The Climate Coalition
are mobilising thousands of people to come to London and meet their MP
on 17 June outside Westminster. After meeting for the first time as the
new Parliament, MPs will join you and other constituents so you can
lobby them on securing meaningful climate action in your local
community, and across the world.
We know that the general election result must have been disappointing
for a lot of you but our movement isn’t just about making our voices
heard once every five years. We need to be heard every day. And that’s
what this is about.
The climate lobby on 17 June is a perfect opportunity to
change politics for the better. Get to know your MP, whichever party
they’re from.
Tell them what you’re worried about in the local environment. Ask
them what they’ll do to ensure Britain takes decisive action at the UN
climate talks this year. Make sure they know that you’re concerned,
committed and determined.
Whatever you love that’s threatened by climate change, come to London
on 17 June to tell your MP about it, and make sure they take action.
Find out more about the day here.

Davido Is A Brilliant And Obedient Student – H.O.D
Olusegun Ojuola, the Head of Music Department,Babcock University has
described Davido as a billiant and obedient student. Until his
graduation yesterday,Davido was a lone student in his department and was
taught by Mr Ojuola.
Speaking to the NETng at the convocation of the music star on Sunday, June 7, 2015, Ojuola said:
‘Well, the first thing I try to do is to dichotomise the artiste from the student. The Davido I know is an artiste, but the student I admitted into the department is Adedeji David Adeleke and the relationship has been like that all through.’
‘But I can tell you this much, that David is a very very brilliant and very obedient student. When I say Obedient, you can see that in terms of humility. Anytime David is in school, he knows he’s in school as a student.’…

Aregbesola Challenges SDP To Publish His Assets
Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola
has dared the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the state to make good its
threat by making his assets public.
The SDP, which has grown to become
an outspoken opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had requested
that the governor declare his assets publicly without delay or risk having it
published by the party.
The party had described Aregbesola’s
defence on how he spent several billions of the state funds as laughable and
inconsistent going by the facts in its possession.
The SDP said it has conducted its
private investigations and discovered how the governor allegedly acquired
enormous assets in the last four years in a state where millions are living in
abject poverty and workers are owed salaries for months.
Speaking during the party’s
Performance Assessment meeting held in Osogbo at the weekend to deliberate on
how SDP performed in the last National Election, Chairman of the party, Mr.
Ademola Ishola said what his party uncovered about Aregbesola’s wealth would
stun Nigerians.
However, in a statement by Semiu
Okanlawon, Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Office of the
Governor, Aregbesola stated that SDP was merely looking for things to hold on
to, in order to remain relevant.
“Our attention has been drawn to a
statement said to have been issued by the Social Democratic Party in Osun where
it asked the Governor of Osun Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to publicly declare his
assets.
“The SDP is obviously looking for
things to hold on to in order to be relevant for the party was not the one that
asked Aregbesola to fulfil the constitutional duty of declaring his assets
before and after his first term,” the statement read.
